I got my order fast and it is just what I expected. Death Valley looked like an awesome card game when I saw a review online of it. I went to the maker of the game’s website to order it but it was out of stock. And what’s worse is that I couldn’t seem to find it sold anywhere else until I came to board game bliss. Now I can play this awesome and beautiful card game.
The developers pack a lot of game in a little box, and the components are of good quality. Game play is simple enough to learn, and the rule book makes more sense once you have a play through under your belt.
Game play is straightforward. Build the reputation of your club and have the highest reputation by games end, 6 rounds. I have only played this at the 2-player to date, but there is a bot player that each player in the game controls once per turn, so there is that slight combative element to the game. Smart play and thinking ahead create the path to victory, and having back-up plans is crucial since the open slots for each action are limited.
A solid game with fairly easy set up and tear down. Not a great game, but a decent 7.5/10
My wife and I have really enjoyed this game and have played it lots.
I recommend 4 players. The rules are pretty straightforward. The game is some whacky fun. While this is not a serious strategy game, it can become one once your group grasps the nuances. It is a ton of fun for a serious game group.
