Excellent addition to the Transformers Deck Building lineup. Would highly recommend.
After playing all the campaigns but scarlet keys, this is one of my favorite if not THE favority cycle.
The theme is awesome and a welcome change to the other settings.
At the beginning you will get your butt kicked, but once you figure out the important things and you fiddle around with your deck, it becomes SO much fun and is incredibly rewarding. Other cycles like Edge of the Earth were also awesome but way too easy for my taste. THIS offers a proper challenge imho.
That being said you need other cycles to make this work. With just the core set and this as your first expansion, you probably will have a bad time. At least when you play as a group.
This feels like a cross between cooperative Clue, and Sudoku. It's an excellent game, especially at larger player counts. I find it's very easy at two players.
This is fantastic for large groups up to 8. It’s very fun for smaller groups as well. Simple enough to teach to non-gamers, yet rich enough to keep gamers interested. I’m not sure I’ll ever get 16 people ready to go for the double-size tournament, but that could be fun, too!
All packages from BGB are delivered with A1 timing.
BUT, every time a box comes in, I hold my breath as to how much padding I'll have to throw away because boxes are much too large for their content.
BGB uses paper for padding. Every time, I take each paper sheet out, and flatten them out on top of each other wondering how I could reuse them instead of trashing them. My last order, I counted 29 sheets of paper. Large sheets. Twenty-nine. TWENTY. NINE. 29.
I do a little shipping as BGG trading member. It is very easy to reduce the height (and weight!) of a box. I would love to receive better optimized BGB pakages. Despite this criticism, BGB remains my default go to place for board games. Best price, best delivery times, best ALMOST everything! ;)
