Quite a different approach to the area control genre. Almost action selection in nature as players are less concerned with holding what they have and more interested in taking what they want from round to round. Plays smoothly. Each player has the same fundamental actions at the start, with an upgraded action unique to each, but quickly becomes an engine of each players' design. A decent amount of interaction. Downtime is limited through additional card actions which give every player something to do every turn. Nightmares introduce nice dynamic shifts to the formula. Nearly every game will be drastically different from the last meaning replayability is high.
Good at all player counts, best at 3.
Highly recommended!
What an excellent solo game. In my first session of the campaign I was overrun by barbarians. It was tough. The game has this great balancing mechanic where after each match depending how you do it will either boost or hinder your next game. It was the slightest touch that in my next match it helped me a lot. Since winning my 2nd match it now added something to hinder me. I'm looking forward to continuing the campaign. It's a balancing act of a game with very thinky yet simple actions to complete. For me it's a 10/10 so far. Thank you for the experience.
