Munchkin Promotional Bookmarks

The original Munchkin promotional bookmarks were very thin and long: 8" by 1.75". According to Andrew Hackard, the Steve Jackson GamesMunchkin Czar, the size was dictated as follows: "We first started making bookmarks because our book printer had waste space around the edges of our GURPS book covers (back when they were still softbacks), and offered to print bookmarks there free so the paper wasn't being wasted." At some point, still fairly early on, Steve Jackson Games standardized on 6" long and 2.75" wide. Subsequently, all new bookmarks and reprints were done in that size.

In early 2012 the publisher once again changed the size, this time to 7" long and 2.5" wide. When asked about it, the reason given was that their printer had changed its standard size. All new bookmarks and reprints now come in the new size.
