Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave uses the same "hand-building" mechanism found in Hostage Negotiator that puts cards you purchase directly in your hand for next turn, but it features new Conversation Cards, new Terror Cards, new Pivotal Events, and all new Abductors — each with new rules and new demands! It can be played right out of the box and also expands the original Hostage Negotiator.

Light, Fun, and a Great Gateway Game

I really enjoyed the base game of Hostage negotiator and couldn't wait to get Crime Wave. I wasn't disappointed. Some gamers complain that there is a strong 'luck' element to the game but I embrace it. I like the way they've changed up a lot of the conversation cards - makes spending the cash on another game worth it for me. The added element of the alert markers was a really nice touch. More abductors. More hostages to save. I give this a four out of five stars. Could add a few more abductors to the game and it would definitely be a five out of five. I'll be going through the abductor packs I purchased and posting reviews of each. Cheers and happy negotiating!
