Folded Space - Dead of Winter / Long Night

Easy to assemble and super convenient to use. Make setting much faster. The price and the fact it holds the expansion makes it an easy choice for boardgame insert.

The width from sleeved cards (63.5mm) in The Long Night makes them 5-6mm taller than the depth of the Folded Space insert. (I used Mayday Premium sleeves; green packet code MDG7077) If you sleeve all your TLN cards you CAN'T fit your board and instruction manual flush into the box. Work around: Sleeve only half the game cards and lay them in the card trays at a tilt, then store those near the edge of the box. Store the unsleeved closer to the middle, where the boards and manual sit. Otherwise, if you want to sleeve all the cards, store the box on it's back or get a box band to assure the lid stays in place during vertical storage/travelling.

The square tray meant for dice holds a maximum of 25. TLN comes with 30d6, so you'll have to split the dice between two trays. Not really a negative as it's nice to have two separate trays at the table where players can reach for extra dice.

On the plus side, the insert was very easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to understand. All pieces punched out of the frame cleanly, keeping their sharp edges. The fit was snug, allowing me to be lazy and do a mediocre glue job. I used standard white household glue and occasionally stabbed some sewing pins into spots to hold the corners at a proper 90 degrees while it dried. Six hours later it was in the box, filled with components and doing it's job. it's very light compared to a wooden storage solution, which is appreciated considering that DoW:TLN is a bit on the heavy side for a board game.

Product is exactly as described. It's at a great price point, and very light. Very easy to assemble and is very sturdy when you glue the pieces together. Love how everything came together and would highly recommend for anyone looking to reorganize their set of Dead of Winter.
