Description

e-Raptor Insert compatible with Imperial Assault is a perfect accessory designed to organize and improve gameplay of the board game.

Thanks to this insert you can arrange all game components and keep them in order – no more mess on the table while playing. No more looking for necessary elements during the game.

You can hold all your Map Tiles, Miniatures, Dice, Cards etc. in one place without being afraid of losing control of the setting. They can be easily accessed and do not take as much space as during the game without an insert. Also, when the box is closed, the components are still kept in order, ready for setting another game quicker than ever before.

The insert is composed of 4 parts, 3 of which are smaller and can be taken out of the board game box and be even closer to players during gameplay. Additionally, thanks to a new method of storing Miniatures (see the pictures), storing them is more convenient and every Miniature can be found at first glance.

The insert is durable and made of high quality HDF. To assemble it, there is no glue required. It allows to hold all components inside the box, including board and manual.

Good for holding minis and cards, but organization could be better.

Imperial Assault is a game that needs some sort of box originization. I got this one because it was a good price, and from the images, the layout seemed pretty good. The tray for holding minis is great, and will be very helpful when playing, the token tray is also good and will allow everything on the table without having to have piles of stuff all over. And everything does fit in the box. When built, everything is sterdy, but I'm not sure how long the "retention" arms will last with taking minis in and out.

But let me tell you why I gave this 3 stars. This insert, while it has space for cards, tokens and minis, has NO instructions with it. You need to download the assembly instructions off the e-raptor website. That's ok, but a pain. The instructions are some of the worst I've ever seen. Extremely hard to read, there are NO words, just a picture of each punch board and dotted lines to where they "hover" over another piece. It's not impossible to put together, but more work could have been put into the assembly instructions.

There's also no indication on how they're supposed to stack in the box (you gotta look at the preview images on the website to see how things fit. And while everything fits in the box, it is EXTREMELY tight. The corners WILL chew up your box. So hopefully you don't care too much about that. I found that if you place the AT-ST with it's front facing the box (not inward like the picture) then you can fit the token tray in without much fuss. But then you will need to fiddle with getting the mini tray in the box.

I wish there was some sort of lid for the mini tray and token tray. The top of the minis sit just below the top of the token tray. So when you place the books, and the character boards, they don't sit flat. It's not a HUGE problem, but it's less than ideal.

And one last thing. If you enjoy your sanity, and want to actually play the game instead of spending your whole time organizing tokens, DO NOT STORE, TRANSPORT, OR TURN THE BOX ON IT'S SIDE OR UPSIDE DOWN! Nothing is keeping the tokens from falling out of the tray. When I put this together I did the "flip test" (where you move the box on it's side and rotate it). While the mini's and cards all stayed in their place, the tokens were EVERYWHERE. So I had to reset it. And this game will forever be stored flat.
