I have only played this solo so far but it is a crafty puzzle resource management game with a race against the clock component.
Game seems heavy on the surface, but turns are simple and quick which lends well to bigger groups. There is a lot of depth to the actions and characters, but nothing that can't be learned while playing. An absolutely chaotic and wonderful game.
Similar to all the other starter desks, Blue desk play style is unique in its own way:
Out of the box, it seems relatively heavy in DEFENSIVE side with presence of higher number of Blocker cards, abundant cards (both event and character) with "return to owner" effect. However, that is just meant to set the stage for best-moment for a killing blow.
The distribution of the card is OKAY; but like Red starter desk, everyone probably want certain card to come in 4 instead of 2 (Good that Blocker LAW is 1 Cost and in 2 pairs)
Like the actual 7 War Lord in actual anime/manga, they are power individual but don't always work well together; so you might want to get a different leader (Crocodile never lead the group in the show!), and focus your desk on several (3, 4, 5 max) lords as you develop your desk beyond the Starter.
That is all why I gave a 4 instead of 5!
Fast and fun game which perfectly captures the feel of classic arcade fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken. I loved the original game, but this edition is streamlined, prettier and simply better.
