"Salsa" is the Latin word for "salted", and in the Concordia: Salsa expansion for Concordia, players will discover:

  • Two new maps: "Byzantium" and "Hispania"
  • Wooden pieces for a sixth commodity: salt
  • City tokens for additional salt cities
  • More than twenty new cards

The cards are all different, can be acquired during the game, and salt your game with new strategic challenges! Some cards have permanent effects, others return to stack after using. Both the sixth commodity and the new cards can be played with the base game and the Britannia expansion as well, thus giving even more variety.

Forum module improves an already excellent game.

After using the Forum module (which adds more tactics & strategy through bonus tiles & permanent abilities, and how long to wait on replenishing your hand of cards to do so), I don't think I'd want to play Concordia without it. Already a great game, but Salsa just expands, deepens, and freshens it up into an even greater one. Plus you get 2 new maps (and the Salt module, which I still haven't used!).

Best expansion

Love the new maps, love the forum tiles for when you're feeling like a more chaotic game. Salt is tough to get but it can be what you need in a pinch.

It adds more variety without extending the game or complicating it too much. I never play without it, even with brand new players.

If you're a fan of Concordia, I'd say this is an almost must have expansion. It provides a couple more viable routes to victory and opening sequences of play. The forum tiles give players some unique powers which help speed up the game a bit which is also a welcome change since the original game (with 4+ players) can tend to drag on a bit.
