The base game of Castle Panic is a bit simple, even the youngest (8) gets bored of the mechanic after a few games. The expansions add a bit of complexity which refreshes it significantly. A great game for playing with 8-12 year olds that gives them a lot of agency to make their own decisions in a cooperative game, while still learning strategy in a simplified environment.
The Big Box is great, as the expansions are all separated and sorted, which makes it relatively painless to pick/choose/setup with varying combinations of expansions. I'd recommend playing each expansion individually, especially with younger players, before combining them.
Anytime I have to sleeve standard sized cards, this is my go to purchase.
If you want more of what is good, then it is a good expansion, maybe a bit overpriced, but that is its only fault.
Buy ingredients and distill up to 7 spirits over the course of the game and sell for cash. Lots to love about this one. Production is pretty great. Game play is very interesting.
