It’s great to be able to purchase this Kickstarter promo pack to complete the standard retail version of Calico. However, $14 for what technically is one small piece of punch out cardboard feels very overpriced.
This is my first flip and write and loads of fun. People seems to hhave diffculty knowing where to draw the lines. I find the blue lines on the paper a little hard to read but a fun time. Bring a calculator and add a pecil sharpener to the box.
Enjoyed this wargame, as I do all David Thompson designs. This is part of the Valiant Defense series and, imo, is probably the second best entry in the series. Pavlov’s House is still the pinnacle so far but this one is definitely up there.
Recently tried this and am now hooked. It is a sleeker combination of 'One Deck Dungeon' and 'Tiny Epic Dungeon', with slightly fewer symbols to learn and faster gameplay. It is also a very compact game, taking up far less space than TED. Overall, the game are challenging, but not overly so, and a lot of fun for a quick play. I recommend picking up the inexpensive 'Depths of Damnation' expansion, which adds a bunch of new cards, monsters and a new Lore system to flesh out the sparse story.
