Love Letter Premium takes the familiar Love Letter game and pumps it up in two different ways. First, the cards are supersized and much thicker than normal, the hearts that players claim are large and wooden, and the hard-sided box has a magnetic closure.

Second, the game now plays with up to eight players thanks to the inclusion of an additional set of cards, such as the Assassin (0) which eliminates an opponent if that opponent forces you to reveal it and the Sycophant (4) who must be the target of a played card until it's covered on the next turn. The rules for Love Letter Premium dictate which cards to use depending on the player count.

Best version

There are many love letter variants available, but the premium edition is by far the best.

The game plays quickly, but it's always fun. There's a small level of strategy that keeps things interesting. Plays best in bigger groups. If you manage to find this, pick it up since it's out of print.

Great game

This is a fantastic game for anyone. Playing the base 4 player is great and so easy to teach new players. The expansion that come with helps prevent the problem of the game getting dull over time. The only problems are that the game becomes dull over time as you learn the strategies and that the expansion makes the game very long. A fast paced short game is the purpose of loveletter. Either way this is a must by. Especially to get people into games.

Super fun game with larger groups! Somewhat similar to Coup, but better!

Well designed game

Quick rounds and does not drag on during play. If you enjoy playing Avalon or bluffing type games, this game is even better as it reduces the time it requires players to prolong the game, deduction skills and process of elimination can help you speed up the game play. Great two player game, not easy to guess eachother’s hand. Very compact game, good for coffee shops or travel play!

MUST HAVE - A fast paced game of intrigue

Most games of intrigue are slow and cumbersome involving complex rules or mechanics. Some people get fed up of the constant lying and backstabbing, especially if they have no chance of winning. PROS- Superfast to setup, play and win.- Incredibly easy to teach, learn and play. - Strategy is simple to learn but has incredible depth to master.- The sleeves are printed as envelopes and come with the game. Excellent production values. CONS:- Not thoroughly enjoyable with 2-3 players. You need at least 5 for a solid experience and best played with 6-8.OVERALL VALUEEven if you have other editions of this game, you owe it to yourself
