If you've ever seen Onward and thought that it would make for a great D&D session or if you've ever wanted to learn and play D&D with your family, Quests of Yore is a perfect fit. I'll get it out of the way, if you have any interest in introducing RPGs to your family, this is a brilliant option.
The game does an incredible job of holding the hand of the dungeon Master, giving you guidance on cues, what to read, where to add in some interaction.etc. The game also does a good job of easing players into the game and introducing the various mechanics.
The gameplay itself is dependent on several different types of dice and the decision point on which to use when did slow us down quite a bit and the hope is it'll become more intuitive as we play. But otherwise the game did an incredible job of capturing the kids'imaginations and opening the door to role playing games in the future.
