The Isle of Cats Explore & Draw features gameplay like The Isle of Cats, but with players now choosing a set of cards each round instead of drafting, and then drawing their discoveries onto their boat.

Explore & Draw is a competitive, polyomino cat-placement board game for 1-6 players that is ideal for a quick break or taking to a friend’s house.

In the game, you are citizens of Squalls End on a rescue mission to The Isle of Cats and must rescue as many cats as possible before the evil Lord Vesh arrives. Each cat is represented by a unique shape and belongs to a family, you must find a way to make them all fit on your boat while keeping families together.

You will also find treasures, Oshax (special cats), and ancient lessons which give you another personal way of scoring points.

Complete lessons, fill your boat, and keep cat families together to score points, and the player with the most points after seven rounds wins.

Great little game!

I really enjoy it. I have never played the full board game but I believe some day I shall. I enjoy roll and write versions as they are quick to set up and play and much lighter than the full versions. Sometimes I just want quick and light.

All the Cats, Without the Setup

Overall this game captures the feel of the Tile laying Isle of Cats. In the vein of roll and Write game Welcome To... Each player picks from the same set of cards to determine cat shapes, treasures, and lessons. The challenge is more so against yourself which I personally prefer to the original Cats. Overall, if you are a fan of Isle of Cats, and Roll and Write games, then you are bound to like Explore and Draw. If you haven't played original cats, but like Roll and Writes, then you will probably enjoy this game as well.

Overall a great game to add to almost any collection.

Colourful, Easy to Learn and Fun to Play!

Love this one - so easy to learn, but the strategy can be quite deep. The component quality is great, with a good set of coloured dry-erase markers with erasers for each player.
