Expansion For The Magnificent

The audience holds their breath as she breaks the darkness, piercing the silence like an icicle, whirling up the frozen saw dust like a massive blizzard. She is the Magnificent SNØ.

This expansion to The Magnificent introduces SNØ, a new performer with her own camp tiles and poster cards.
You can now play the game with up to 5 players. New master cards provide new types of bonuses and new ways to score. New trainer tiles provide new ways to tweak your actions. The optional Master Board Module gives each player a special action each round, and then there is more. Note that the base game is required to play!

Contains:
  • 53 new and unique Master Cards
  • 14 White Camp Tiles
  • 18 White Poster Cards
  • 10 Player Order Cards
  • 5 Summary Cards

  • 2 new Player Boards

Almost exclusively simply more of a good thing, but sometimes maybe a bit too much?

The Magnificent doesn't need more knobs to twiddle than it originally came with, so this expansion which largely provides a bit more depth to the pool of existing decisions is appreciated. The one new mechanic introduced is entirely optional and boils down to a simple reward selection.

With a combined total of over 100 cards, the master deck is now actually somewhat ridiculously sized. In 2-3 player games where you draw 9 cards from it over the course of the game (and start with another pre-determined 4 per player) this is especially true. It might make sense to not reshuffle the deck between plays and keep cards used in prior games sorted out in order to have a chance at eventually encountering the whole breadth of variety.

Worth having if you like the game. I'd rate it low priority if the availability was reasonable but since this seems to only pop up in small quantities once a year you should probably jump on it if you see it in stock.
