Slay the Spire: The Board Game *PRE-ORDER*

Great recreation of the video game fun solo or with friends!

I've played a decent amount of the video game, and this captures everything I love about it and expands it into a co-op game. Easy to learn even for my friends who were unfamiliar with the IP, and has tons of replay value. I highly recommend it.

I spent countless hours playing this on Switch. This game captures the feel expertly well, and it's great to play with my oldest!

My girlfriend and I were skeptical. I have played hundreds of game of the video game version and my girlfriend never had any interest from seeing me playing it.
I was not sure about the adaptation and whether or not the game would still be balanced, fun and gave rewarding progression to characters.
I was able to try it out at a convention and I immediately ordered it. We already played 3 full games in the first week and we love it. The first 2 games we tried one character each and the latest one we played 2 characters each.
The die mechanism makes it exciting to start each new round. And getting a golden ticket when getting a card reward is so fun.
Setting the game up is a bit long and cleaning up after a game is a bit messy, but still better than other game of similar weight. The upkeep of encounter and monster cards adds to the length of the game for sure. Next game, we'll try an app to see if it's making things easier and faster to manage, much like it does for games such as Gloomhaven.
100% recommended to anyone in the hobby who likes well balanced coops.
