Xia: Legends of a Drift System

Awesome game.

If you like to bring a bit of imagination into your boardgames, this is one of the best. Especially with the Embers expansion, this has a huge amount of potential player-made stories that will emerge with each play. You'll be talking about these moments long after the game is over!

It doesn’t really invent anything, but all the mechanics are done excellently and mesh together perfectly. Pickup and drop off to sell. Dice rolls for combat. Search the galaxy for exploration tokens, and moving vie dice rolls and modifier. It doesn’t sound special, but when you combine those perfectly, while providing not notch production, and a game that lets you do want you want, you’re left with a special game that will have a spot in your collection for years to come.

This boardgame remind me of Elite dangerous in the freedom you have. The quality of the miniature is great, the design is great the concept is awesome. The only downside I have with this game is the downtime when you are 4 player and one of then take is time to get the most of his ship. But that downside apply to most multiplayer boardgame.

If you don't know what this game is about just look some video on YouTube. It's an expansive game but worth every single penny. Just be aware that you will want the ember of forsaken star expansion with the base game.

This is an amazing space sandbox game. Frankly, this is the game that Firefly the Board Game wishes it was. There are many paths to victory to try: exploration, trade, harvesting, pirating, bounty hunting, and more. The first expansion adds a lot, especially for solo play, but I had a lot of great games of Xia before that was released, so you don't need it right away. (Although looking up some of the rule changes that can be easily incorporated would improve the experience.) This seems destined to be my favorite game of all time.
