Shadows in the Forest is a thrilling, immersive play experience that brings a distinctive twist to game night - you play it in the dark! One player moves the LED lantern around in search of Shadowlings, mysterious creatures who avoid the light. The lantern illuminates the forest and trees, casting real shadows on the game board. The rest of the players work together, strategically moving their Shadowlings to stay out of the light in this innovative board game for kids and families.

Hello Darkness my old friend...

We were putting together a power outage kit and found this game and thought it would be a great addition. We live in the woods so power outages can be lengthy. The first time we pulled this game out the kids were skeptical, but after a few plays they loved it! They now look forward to power outages as it means we can pull out this game to play :)

Personal favorite

I didn't buy this board game from this website, but I do own it and wanted to leave a short review for it. Shadows in the Forest is a very simple strategy game with a fun gimmick and a cute aesthetic. It's good for all ages and really easy to pick up and play, and teach to newcomers. As an adult who simply enjoys board games, I wouldn't consider Shadows in the Forest to be a must have game as it's very simple, and your enjoyment will heavily depend on how much you enjoy the playing in the dark gimmick. But I personally fell in love with it based on the premise alone, and after multiple plays of it I can safely say that my opinion hasn't changed. It's the perfect camping game to take on a trip, and is a personal favorite of mine. So even if you don't have kids and you think you'd enjoy a simple yet cutesy strategy game, this is a nice one to pick up.

Kids wake up early?

Do your kids wake up when it’s still dark out? Of course they do! Do parents want to get up at half-past-crazy, definitely not. This play-in-the-dark game is perfect for kids to play on their own in the mornings instead of watching t.v. It’s quick, so my 5 and 9 yo even play before school.
