This is the retail edition of Villages of Valeria: Architects. Villages of Valeria: Landmarks is sold separately at retail, but was combined together during the Kickstarter campaign (Villages of Valeria: Landmarks & Architects.

Master Architects make their way to the King's Hall after hearing news that the King of Valeria is ready to establish a new Capital City. Each Architect, aligned with different guilds, drafts new buildings and sends envoys to call on new adventurers. Some plans are ambitious, so the Master Architects ask you to allow them to use your castle grounds to extract resources.

In Villages of Valeria: Architects, players will have the option to play with secret objectives (Architect cards) and have more flexibility in creating any resource they want with the Castle Grounds cards. Six new unique Buildings will add even more depth and strategy to your turns and new Adventurers will help you gain bonus points and actions based on those Buildings.

So, what does Landmarks bring to Villages of Valeria? The primary new mechanic is a new follow opportunity called "Build A Landmark".

With Landmarks, if you cannot or choose not to follow the lead action, you can build a landmark as your follow action.You simply discard a specific card from your hand and, based on the resource icon at the bottom of the Building card, you take a certain landmark token and place it on your castle card. For example, discard a Building card with a Food resource at the bottom to establish a Silo as a Landmark in your village.

Landmark tokens do not count as Buildings, but at the end of the game, the player with the most of each type of Landmark will earn victory points! For each set of all five different Landmarks you've collected, you'll gain even more victory points.

The Landmarks expansion also comes with new Adventurer cards that trigger on the Landmarks you've collected, new Building cards to grow your village with cool new powers, and all-new Architect cards to award hidden end-game bonus points!

Increase your Landmark holdings, leverage the new Buildings, attract the new Adventurers, and show your rivals what a proper village looks like!

Guild Halls also introduces rapid-recruit Adventurers that only require 1 building type icon in your village to recruit. They offer some quick but low points and immediate rewards.

A village-building card game set in the world of Valeria. Establish resources, construct buildings, and attract adventurers to your Village to be crowned the next capitol city.

Each player takes a turn taking one action from the following list and all other players may follow the action but with fewer rewards:

Tax: Take 1 Gold and Draw 1 Card. (Follow: Draw 1 card.)
Harvest: Draw 3 Cards. (Follow: Draw 1 card.)
Develop: Discard 1 card to add a Resource to your village. (Follow: Discard 2 cards to add a Resource to your village.)
Build: Add a building to your village. Draw a card. (Follow: Add a building to your village, but do not draw a card.)
Recruit: Pay 1 Gold to add an Adventurer to your village. (Follow: Pay 2 Gold to add an Adventurer to your village.)

Building cards can be used for 2 reasons. 1) Pay resources to add it to your village as a building and gain its benefit and VP. 2) Develop it as a Resource and place it under your Castle card.

When building, use resources you have developed or pay another player 1 Gold to use their resource.

The game ends when a player has built or recruited 10 buildings/Adventurers.

Railways of the Western U.S. is an expansion for Railways of the World.
