A two-player card game of dueling mages. Each player gets a symmetrical deck of cards with values from 1 to 4 which symbolize the troops of magic minions he has created. Players take turns laying down their chosen cards to form a line of 3 or 4 (depending on the mode of play). They must follow several rules when doing so:

stronger cards can cover weaker cards
The playing field is created as more cards are dealt

Additionally, players can use:

power cards - at the beginning of each turn two powers are laid out on the table and available for each player to play instead of making their move

Deep in the European forests you can still find the endangered wild European hamster. You have been hired to conserve these hamsters and keep them safe from their natural predator: the badger.

Tricky Badger is a set-collection, trick-taking card game. The game lasts five rounds, and each player starts the round with a hand of nine cards, with pink always being trump. Ten collection cards are placed face up from the deck.

At the start of each trick, the active player (a position that rotates) chooses a collection card that the winner of the trick will add to their collection; each collection card has an arrow to indicate whether the highest or lowest card in the trick will win. The active player leads a card, and players must follow this color, if possible. Some cards trample others, and a trampled card is removed from consideration in the trick. If a trump is played in the trick, then the highest or lowest non-trampled trump wins the trick; otherwise the highest or lowest non-trampled card of the suit led wins the trick.

After nine tricks, the round ends. Discard the remaining collection card, deal out nine cards to each player, and lay out ten new collection cards.

After five rounds, players score points for their collection cards, which can be independent or connected to other cards. Every female hamster and every male hamster is worth 1 point, for example, but a female and male hamster that are connected are worth 3 points. Get a second male hamster, however, and they fight, eliminating all of your hamsters. Similarly, a 3-point badger in your collection will eat all hamsters present unless you connect it with a bone to slake its hunger. You can feed wheat and weevils to hamsters to earn bonus points, but weevils on their own will eat your wheat. Magpies can steal cards from opponents, but cages and buckets can protect your animals from theft.

Whoever ends up with the most points wins.

Welcome to Odd Shop, the auction house for all your oddities! Spend store credits to win the odd objects. But be aware, not all objects are authentic. Hire the inhouse experts to get more information on the objects before you make your bid.

Every round, five objects will be auctioned off. All objects are visible for all the players to see. The auction will start with the object furthest on the left, continuing to the object on the right. For each object, a round of bidding will occur.

All objects have two values in gold. One value for an authentic object and one value for a replica. You will only find out if the objects are authentic or not after you’ve bought the item. But before the bidding starts, you can hire the help of an expert to check if the object(s) is authentic or a replica. Bidding will happen simultaneously in the first round. After the first round, the player with the most credits left, will become the profiteer. When there is a profiteer, bidding will occur in clockwise order, with the profiteer bidding last. Bids will be placed face down, but players can see how many cards are used in the bid.

The objects are divided into four categories: potions, familiars, gear and magic items. When you win more objects of the same category, you gain bonus points (depending on the duration of the game). Gear objects belong to sets of two or three. When you’ve collected a complete set, the total value of that set will be doubled. Therefore, it is encouraged to try and win as many of the same category objects as you can, but your opponents will of course know that you want certain objects. That’s why it is allowed to trade with the other players. You can trade objects, or you can buy objects from other players by paying credits. This means that you will play the rest of the game with less credits to spend and your opponent with more than everyone else. But getting to complete a collection can win you the game!

You may notice that the objects are not named. You may use your expertise to identify the objects and give them names. And how on earth could some be replicas?!

Up in the skies there is a battle brewing. Four noble Families vie for power. Every Family has four castles which they try to connect by growing beanstalks between them. Connecting these castles combines their powers resulting in that Family claiming the throne. Who will sit on the throne of the Cloudy Kingdom?

In this game Players play one Route (or Magic) card per turn until the game finishes due to two Castles of one Family being connected. These Castles must be on opposing sides (north-south or east-west). On your turn, you play the Route card from your hand, or you discard it and play a Magic card instead. At the end of your turn, you draw a new Route card and play continues clockwise to the next player.

Sounds easy enough. But. Route card can be placed perpendicular on top of each other (so at a 90-degree angle). Meaning that when you want to play a Route card, you can either use an empty space or play your card on top of an existing card. Add to that a dash of magic with the Magic cards, and you have got yourself a challenging game with lots of options and strategies.

nana, which was later reprinted as Trio, is a card game in which players are looking for three of a kind.

The deck consists of 36 cards, numbered 1-12 three times. Players receive some cards in hand, which they are required to sort from low to high, and the remaining cards are placed face down on the table.

On your turn, choose any single card to reveal, either the low or high card from a player's hand (including your own) or any face-down card from the table. Then, do this again. If the two cards show the same number, continue your turn; if they do not, return the cards to where they came from and end your turn.

If you reveal three cards showing the same number, take these cards as a set in front of you. If you are the first player to collect three sets, you win — except that a player wins immediately if they collect the set of 7s or two sets that add or subtract to 7, e.g., 4s and 11s.

Note that nana and Trio contain identical components, but nana is labeled for 2-5 players, while Trio is labeled for 3-6 players. In Koole Klötze ("Cool Blocks"), you need to quickly build sculptures from random bits of wood and hope that others can figure out what you've created.

To set up, place the numbered hexagon in the center of the table, then lay out six construction cards next to the numbers. Lay the 17 wooden bits in a circle around the cards, then place the arrow next to a bit to create a starting point in the line. Each player takes a set of cards numbered 1-6.

The first player takes the first six bits in line, along with the building platform and sunglasses, then shuffles their deck and secretly looks at the bottommost card. They now have 30 seconds to use the wooden bits to recreate the image on the associated construction card, balancing bits as they wish, but not moving them to create an animated scene.

The other players can each play one card face down into the central hexagon to guess which construction card the active player is building. Once time runs out or everyone has guessed, the active player forecasts how many others correctly guessed the answer, then reveals all the cards. Whoever first guessed the correct answer scores 2 points, with the second correct guesser earning 1 point. If at least one person guessed correctly, the builder scores 1 point, and if they forecast correctly, they score a bonus 1 point.

The builder then places all used bits at the end of the line and passes unused bits to the next player clockwise, with that player taking bits from the line as needed to have six on hand.

After everyone has been builder twice (with 5-6 players) or thrice (with 3-4 players), whoever has the most points wins.

Welcome to the battle nest! You have been dropped as an egg in an unfamiliar nest by your cuckoo mother. When you hatch, you notice that your egg was different than the other eggs. You take alternating turns, with the starting player going first. Your turn consists of moving one game piece on the board, your turn ends after the movement. There are three different game pieces, each with their own rules for movement.

Game pieces can only move to a space on the board that is empty or occupied by an opponent. Game pieces cannot jump over other game pieces. When you move a game piece to an occupied space, you capture your opponent on this space. Your opponents’ game piece is then removed from the board and your game piece takes its place. There are two basic rules to keep in mind; 1) if you can capture an opponent, you are obliged to. 2) You can only move your game pieces in a forward direction, except when you can capture an opponent behind you.

Your movement options lead to two potential situations; 1) you can capture an opponent, or 2) you cannot capture an opponent.

In Cabanga!, players try to get rid of their hand of cards as quickly as possible — but ideally without picking up penalties along the way.

After the row cards and starting cards in all four colors have been placed in the middle of the table and players each have a hand of eight cards, the round begins. To start, divide the deck evenly among all players. Take turns revealing a card face up in front of you, covering whichever card you revealed previously. Cards feature candles, magic hats, potions, or chameleons in different numbers and colors, and if five symbols of the same color or type are ever visible on all the face-up cards, race to hit the bell in the center of the table. Whoever hits the bell first claims all revealed cards, placing them under their deck. If you hit the bell incorrectly, you pay the other players one card each.

In Violet and the Grumpy Nisse, one player is Violet and the other is Torech, the very grumpy nisse (a creature from Nordic folklore similar to a gnome) who has been kicked out of every single household in the village and taken shelter in the woods, which he claimed as his own domain.

Now, Violet is setting out to meet with her friend Ordep, the friendly troll, a journey that takes her right through the woods that Torech has claimed for himself. After being kicked out of the village, Torech cannot stand the idea of a human invading his home, let alone a human who is friends with a troll! So he is out to make Violet's journey as unpleasant as he possibly can, playing all sorts of tricks on her.

Violet and the Grumpy Nisse is a two-player trick-taking game. Players take different approaches on how to play this game depending on who they are playing as:

Violet has control over the pacing of the game, but is also more vulnerable to losing tricks as she has to manage her lantern, making sure it's always fueled so that she doesn't get lost in the darkness of the woods at night. She also wasn't expecting a nisse to cross her path; this can be scary, and she has to manage her fear so not to be overwhelmed by her own paranoia.
Torech has very little control over the pacing of the game, but he does has a few tricks up his sleeve. As Violet's fear of him increases, he becomes bolder and sets out more and more traps that make it harder for Violet to reach her friend. Also, unlike Violet, losing a trick is not nearly as bad for Torech as it is for Violet. He, after all, is the master of tricks!

The game ends with a win for Violet if she reaches the end of her journey. Torech wins if Violet's lantern runs out of fuel, or if her fear sneaks up on her before she gets to Ordep.

What's unique about this trick taking game:

It's highly thematic and instead of keeping track of scores on a pad, you will have Violet's pawn advancing on a map, that displays her progress and how close/far she is from winning the game.
Torech has two tracks on the board he will be focusing on and that display how close/far he is from winning the game: Violet's fear, which he threatens with each trick he successfully plays on her (wins), and Violet's Light track, which he wants to run out as quickly as possible so that she gets lost.
Trump will change over the course of a game as Violet journeys through the different parts of the landscape. Because Violet controls the pacing, she will be able to speed through them, or stay for a little longer to take advantage of a certain suit.
Most cards have a special ability, however, a card's ability is triggered only if it isn't used as a trump (trump is determined by Violet's location on the map).
Thanks to the many different traps Torech can use, each game will have different events play out at different timings, depending on how early Violet becomes a victim of her own fears.
