Crisis: 1914 is a game of international brinkmanship - if you back down too soon, you lose. If you back down too late you lose.

But you also have hawks and doves in your cabinet and in your government, and out of these conflicting views you must somehow formulate a coherent response to the crisis to win the day and prevent war.

Designed for 1 to 5 players with a solitaire engine, and playable in under 2 hours.

There are 3 interrelated concepts at the heart of Crisis: 1914: Prestige, Tension, and Diplomatic Pressure (DP).

Prestige is how you win. The player with the most Prestige at the end of the game is the winner.

Diplomatic Pressure (DP) is how you score Prestige. Every card has a DP value. You apply DP by playing cards. The player with the most Prestige at the end of a turn earns Prestige points. There are other ways of scoring Prestige points too, but this is the most important one.

Tension is how you lose. If you end a turn in the red zone on the Score Track you are also creating Tension for your opponents which reflects how close you are to provoking them into mobilizing for war. If you provoke them too far war starts and you lose.

Cards drive the game. There are various card types that affect the game as follows:

Assertion Cards- which uses your nation's power to increases your Prestige

Consensus and National Interests Cards- these allow your nation to play more cards

Diplomatic Back-Channel Cards - these let you increase DP without increasing Tension

Caution Cards - allow more cards to be drawn

In addition, some cards have recurring effects on Momentum, which stops players from performing certain actions and Reduce Tension which lets you lower Tension in your country.

Both versions of the game require you to make decisions based on good strategy, keeping your wits about you when orders do not turn out well, and pressing on to victory.

These games are designed for easy setup, quick game play, and can be finished in under an hour. Game marker placement is shown on the game board. Command orders and cards are used to shorten the rules. Developed for solitaire play, this game requires you to make great decisions based on good strategy, keeping your wits about you when orders do not turn out well, and pressing on to victory.

Game play is centered around using Field Commands to issue orders by the Turks or Knights of Maltese commanders to defeat each other. Either side can be defeated by their morale falling too low. The game allows you to play either side against a solitaire opponent that has 3 levels of difficulty.

Pick the side you want to be, Turks or Knights of Maltese, and then shuffle the solitaire card deck for your opponent. The card mix used by the solitaire opponent differs from game to game so no two games play alike.

Each commander (solitaire or player) can issue one order per game turn from their Commands available. Your order is carried out based on your strategy and current situation faced. Your choice can cause multiple actions and reactions with results that cause troop eliminations, morale reductions, and events to occur.

HOW TO WIN THE GAME

Any time one side's morale reaches zero during a turn, the other side wins the game.

Hidden Strike: American Revolution recreates the struggle between the American colonists and the British forces during the War of Independence. Each side tries to win the war by controlling a majority of regions.

Confronted by overwhelming forces, the colonists will need strategy to defeat the larger British army and navy to gain their Independence. This is a card driven game, where players manage their hand of cards, usually playing just one card a turn to allow them to move tokens representing military forces across the board into key spaces at key times.

The game can be played in five different modes:
  • Solitaire: For those brave enough to take on the British forces on their own this mode offers a regular and a hardcore option. This mode is a good starting point if you’re trying to learn the game by yourself.
  • Versus: A fierce head-to-head in which one player pitches the British forces against the other player’s American troops.
  • Co-op mode: In this cooperative mode all players share the same objective: take on the role of the American colonists to win Independence from the British.
  • Traitor Mode: The inclusion of a secret traitor who will try to thwart the Americans’ efforts adds a devious twist to the co-op mode.
  • Mastermind: As one player assumes the role of George III the Sons of Liberty will have to band together to overcome the British King’s formidable forces.

Chancellorsville 1863 is a card-driven game on the American Civil War Battle of Chancellorsville. Playable by 1 to 2 players in 1 hour, the game comes with a card-driven solitaire engine. Designed by Maurice Suckling (designer of Freeman's Farm 1777), the game uses many of the concepts from that game. However, added hidden movement, much more maneuver, and other design tweaks make this a truly unique game.

Each turn players will play 1 of their 3 in-hand formation cards to maneuver or attack enemy forces, gaining momentum cubes based on the formation activated. Each formation is a Confederate division or Union corps. Each formation card will allow a major and possibly an additional minor activation, major allowing two moves for a formation while the minor allows one move. After each formation moves combat can occur if a move ends in a location with an enemy formation. Tactic cards may be played during the formation's activation giving it movement or combat bonuses.

At the end of the formation card activation players may spend their momentum cubes to buy tactics cards which may give them benefits in combat or movement in future turns.

Players then draw a new formation card refilling their hands to 3. Hooker, Lee, and Jackson have bonuses that can be played once a game, adding to movement and combat.

Victory is determined by destroying enemy formations through morale/strength loss, or the Union occupying the three victory locations which represent cutting off the Confederate army from Richmond.

Additional rules allow for fixed defensive positions, Jackson's Flank March -- and even his death.

Freeman's Farm 1777 is the first in our Battle Formations game series. These games are a new game system that have been designed for solitaire and two players.

The object of the game is to break three of the formations of the opposing side. This is done by activating your formations and choosing the best actions for it to undertake given the state of the battlefield.

Should you fire your artillery or attack with your infantry? Or should you move your formation to a part of the battlefield that provides an advantage? Or reinforce a faltering formation with troops from a stronger formation? Whatever choices you make, there is a cost to the morale of your active formation.

Further you are limited on how many times you can call on a formation, and once called on you must decide how long you want it to press the attack.

Each time you call on a formation your army gains momentum. As your army builds momentum it allows you to press your formations to continue attacking. But the cost is a reduction in the momentum the army has built up as well as reductions in the morale of the attacking formations.

Each formation has a fixed number of troop markers that can be hit in combat and are also subject to breaking from morale loss. Each formation can only be activated when its activation card is played, and these are limited and not always available. Each formation reduces its morale when activated and when continuing attacks.

Formations are broken when they fail a morale test OR when all their troop markers are eliminated.

Players decide which formations to activate and how far to push it once it begins attacking. Push it just enough and they can win the day. Push it too much and failing a morale test will break it.

Freeman's Farm has been designed for easy set up and quick game play. Game unit placement is shown on the game board and units are wooden markers representing troop and artillery formations. The game was developed for solitaire play AND two players. In solitaire mode players can play as either the American or the British against the solitaire player game engine.
