The hysteria over witches among the people of Salem swept the region like a disease in 1692. As is the case in any tragic event, there are those whom will use the circumstances to their advantage. Under the veil of the witch-hunt lie other motivations; power, greed, revenge and righteousness.

AFFLICTION: Salem 1692 is a game set in the hysteria of a witch-hunt. Use your influence to whisper in the ear of the magistrate, judge, governor or minister to protect some and have others arrested. Salem was a chance to gain property, exact revenge and prove one’s righteousness.

The characters in the game were actual residents of the Salem region. This is the closest possible simulation of actual events in a game to date.

GAMEPLAY: Players will take turns placing a "messenger" (worker) to select actions. After all workers are placed, actions will be resolved in the order they appear on the main board.

EXONERATE - Take 2 Accusation Tokens off of any Colonist.
FIRST PLAYER TOKEN/PROTECTION - Use a letter from the Governor to prevent one Colonist from being arrested and take the First turn, next turn.
GAIN INFLUENCE/USE COLONIST ABILITY - Generate Influence and use the abilities of Colonists that you have in your Circle.
ARREST - Spend Influence equal to a Colonist's adjusted Reputation to Arrest.
SPECTRAL EVIDENCE - Use this token to prevent a Colonist from Generating Influence and using their Colonist ability.
ACCUSE - Place accusation tokens to reduce Colonist's Reputations to make them easier to arrest.
GAIN/REMOVE FEAR - Gain Fear Tokens or remove a fear token from another player (used to weaken Colonists)
BRING COLONIST INTO CIRCLE - Spend Influence equal to a Colonists Base Reputation and bring them into your Circle.

Play will cycle between accusing, arresting and protecting your interests. Fear provides an alternative way to function when necessary.

END GAME: Increase Mather and Mary Spencer Hill are shuffled in with the bottom 6 cards of the Colonist deck. When either of them appears in the play area, the game immediately ends.

VICTORY CONDITIONS: All players will receive victory points for the Reputation value of each Colonist that have arrested or brought into their circle, victory points for the property of those they have had arrested and for the number of influence tokens they have at the end of the game. Each player will also receive points for having specific families arrested or protected, depending on the player tile they are given.

The King may be in trouble. The court that surrounds him contains subjects who seek power. Each player represents a family that will vie for control over subjects. Featuring seven victory conditions the path to victory may shift as you gain more information about each subject’s motives and those of the other families. Your allegiances will twist and change based on your interests. The subjects are but pawns.

The game is played over two phases:
INTRIGUE PHASE
Players will gather information, exert influence, and gather resources. Each member of the court has a role, each player may look at 1 role, place an influence token on a court member and select a Leverage card to add to their hand.

REBELLION PHASE
After each player has taken five turns during the Intrigue phase they will keep 5 cards in their hand and set 4 cards aside in their reserve. In order of the Leverage item number, cards will be played to bribe, conspire, stab, poison, and to shift alliances.

SCORING PHASE
One of the unique aspects of this game is the 7 different victory condition. Players may change what condition they are attempting to achieve as the game evolves. After all Leverage cards, the winning player will be determined based on the resulting court conditions (which of the following living court members they control).

The Usurper will win if two other court members are disgruntled and the Usurper has not been bribed.
The King will win if the King is alive and the Usurper has not won.
The Heir will win if the King is dead, the Usurper has not won and the Heir is not disgruntled.
The Bastard will win if the King is dead, the Usurper and the Heir have not won and the Bastard is not disgruntled.
If none of the above conditions have been met, the player that controls the most undisgruntled court members will win.
If none of the above conditions have been met, the player that controls the Anarchist will win
If none of the above conditions have been met, no player wins (Anarchy).

Play occurs on a 5x5 grid with players swapping one token to create a pattern of elements matching that on the available Yokai cards. More power is gained with matches in the source element. After capture, there is a release of magical energy and the field of battle will change as a result. Voids are created, wild magic appears, or the universe could shift.

Three levels of Yokai cards are placed next to the game board, and when one of the decks has been depleted, the game ends. Most points wins.

The Game Boards
● The trailheads are located by different buildings, where the boards are placed changes the difficulty in getting to those buildings.
● Boards can be set side to side making deeper woods as opposed to the boards being set up off of two trail heads. This also changes how some events play out.

Caching Area Cards
● This is the most randomizing factor in the game. However, Map cards and the ability to look at some of the cards reduces the “randomness” of landing on a card. If you know what is out there you can prepare for it.

Characters
● The Character that you play changes the strategy that you use. If you have the Puzzler, you may wish to go right out into the Caching area before heading to the Sporting Goods Store.
● The other Characters that are in play change your approach. If the Coin Collector is on the board you may want to wait to go to the Geocaching Mega Event until he or she has left the area.

Equipment
● Cards are drawn at random, but you make meaningful choices each time. Deciding which piece of Equipment that you would like to activate will be based on your Character’s abilities, other Characters, what Caching Area cards you know are out there, and the general strategy that you chose to take.

Event Cards
● Some Event Cards have immediate effects, this is a random effect.
● Other Event Cards can be saved to be used during your turn or at any time. Deciding when to use these cards and what cards you have will change each time you play.

GeoCoin Goals
● Each Geocoin has a goal that triggers its point value. Do you chase after a cache or do you go after the Geocoin’s goal?

Deceptively Simple. Deceptively Tricky.

Each player begins the game with little information. Gradually, they will gain clues on to the location of valuable documents and tools. The challenge is timing the game's end when you have the most favorable cards in front of you.

This is a 9 card game. Each player has 2 cards face down in front of them that they are not allowed to look at. One card is placed in the middle of the play area.

INTERROGATION
The First player will peak at 1 card and must swap 1 of the 2 cards in front of the player they just "interrogated" (either swapping the card they just looked at or the other card in the player's possession).

DISCLOSURE
After each player has Interrogated, the first player must flip over 1 card so that it is face-up.

The first player card is passed to the left and play continues.

END GAME: The game ends when one of the players is unable to make a legal move.

The clock is ticking. Your team of Investigators have been sent to R’lyeh for the purpose of reinforcing the failing gate, trapping Cthulhu in his prison forever. The Investigators have two enemies. The clock and the cultists hidden among their numbers.

Triggering the four needed incantations will take all of the skill your team can muster and you don’t have the luxury of time to search for the traitors in your midst.

The odds are slim, but the fate of the world rests in your hands.

The game is played in rounds starting with the player holding the pocket watch and proceeding clockwise so that each player takes a turn. The clock advances one hour after each round.

WHY IS THIS GAME DIFFERENT?
- Each player will have a choice of Five actions during their turn.
- The Cultists are not the main enemy, the clock is.
- The Cultists don't know each other.
- Revealing a Cultist does not eliminate them from the game.
- Players lose sanity in different ways.

INVESTIGATOR/CULTIST ACTIONS

CONTRIBUTE:
Play a card into the incantation pool.

RESEARCH:
Discard (0-3 cards) and refill your hand to 3 cards .

GAMBLE:
Draw 2 cards. You must play one into the incantation pool immediately. Discard the unplayed card.

INVESTIGATE
Shuffle and look at all but 1 of the cards in the Incantation Pool. You may swap 1 card with 1 card from your hand.


MAKE AN ACCUSATION
A player may make an accusation during their turn in order to accuse another player of being a cultist. A majority of the players must vote in agreement with the accusation for the accused to reveal their Secret Nature card. If the accused is an Investigator subtract two hours off the clock.

THE NECRONOMICON
If time is running short and the investigators are desperate, they may vote to consult the Necronomicon. There will be advantages but failure is an instantaneous and brutal end to the game.

EQUIPMENT
Character will each get a piece of equipment to aid them in their quest. Usage of equipment may aid the Investigators or the Cultists... it just depends whose side you are on.

There is no player elimination and the cultists are unaware of the other cultist's identity. If a cultist is discovered their powers are reduced and changed. Be wary, they can still wreak havoc.

The twisted half hour card game. A mental battle where you try to thwart your opponents while attempting to meet your own needs.

All games incorporate psychology, this one takes it head on. You will be using Backhanded Compliments, Clever Insults, Paranoia, Stress and Phobias to manipulate scores in a direction that you choose. It has a twists and multiple tactics, counter-actions that keep the game fresh and replay-able.

Each player scores on four categories; Freedom, Fun, Power and Belonging. Victory points are awarded for having the highest score in a category at the end of the game. The number of points awarded are dependent on the Archetype that the player is using.

Players will spend Mental Energy to perform actions which will lower/raise scores, have an effect on themselves or other players, or block other players from affecting them.

Defense Mechanisms will help protect you, but as you perform actions you build up Psychological Baggage. To rid yourself of the baggage, you must go to Therapy. But Therapy also causes you to lose your Defense Mechanisms.

Psychological Warfare is a balancing game with a number of key decision points each turn. Which cards to discard to create energy, which cards to play, which scores to change, how to combine actions and much more.
